It's a start

Today, I got off my butt and went for a little jog. I know, right? I'm sitting at the keyboard all sweaty and hot, shoes still on. It wasn't anything big, just around our little condo complex thing and then over to the church on the other side of the block. I was probably jogging for a grand total of 5 minutes, but it's a start. It's something

You know, I used to go running every morning with my friend Tracy. We'd get up freaky early (I think it was about 5:30) and go for a run down to the bread factory and back. It was probably about 3 or 4 miles, round trip. And every morning, I hated doing it. But I did notice that I felt more energetic throughout the day, despite the fact that we spent the day walking all over the place.

It starts with a desire, which turns into an action. After that, it becomes a habit, and then a lifestyle. I'm hoping I get to the triathlon before the lifestyle part of this. I don't think I want to ever be called a "runner." Unless it's in a Logan's Run reference. Or Blade Runner. Both of those are cool.
